Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 sport LED fog pod lights with brackets. Now these three-inch LED fog pod lights are gonna give you bright light with reduced glare and improved visibility and safety. Now as you can see, I already have this light connected to my power source, and you can see just how bright this is. And if you notice here, looking at the bottom, I do already have one of the included brackets installed with the hardware on this light, just to show you what this is going to look like with the bracket on the light.

This is gonna be a relatively easy installation for you. Virtually anywhere on your vehicle you're gonna be able to mount this, and the brackets are constructed of durable aluminum. This is what the bracket looks like when it's not installed on your light. So you're gonna get two of those brackets. You're gonna get the hardware that you need, a set of hardware to install the bracket to your light, and then a bolt to attach the bracket here to your vehicle.

So it's gonna be a very, a very easy, very simple setup. Now, let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off here just to give you a better demonstration of the brightness of this light. So I'm gonna go out for a wider view here, and turn this light around, and shine this on the wall behind me, so you can get a good view of that fog beam pattern. Now this fog beam is going to give you high intensity light at an extremely wide field of view, as you can see there on my wall behind me. This light has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin, so the cool white color is gonna match most of your factory lights.

And this has a raw lumen rating of 2,262 lumens, and a measured rating of 1,520 lumens. And this has a peak beam intensity of 10,600 candelas. And let me go ahead and shine that beam again on the wall behind me just so you can see how bright it is, even with my studio lights on. Now, taking a closer look, I wanted to briefly talk about that candela rating. The candela rating measures the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction.

Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs, or you want the light shining in all directions, but for a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit our product page here on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now the power draw on these lights is gonna be 1.1 amps, and this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom designed large TIR optic collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose up to 10% of that light just from it shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you will actually pick up some efficiency. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch-style connector. So you're just gonna plug that pigtail there with the Deutsch connector into the back of the light. And this also has a breather patch that you can see right there. And that's going to prevent any moisture buildup in the lights, and the heat sinks on the back of the housing, it's going to do a great job of dissipating the heat quickly to increase the longevity of these lights. And these lights have been built with high-intensity LED chips, and they feature a durable powder-coated aluminum construction. The heavy duty construction will withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components in your vehicle. And in case you didn't know, Diode Dynamics actually designed, and engineered, and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now just some overall dimensions of these lights. As I mentioned, these are three-inch pod lights. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting at about three and a quarter inches wide. The overall height, again, is going to be three and a quarter inches tall from end to end. The overall depth from the front of the light to the end of the heat sinks, we're sitting about two and three-eighths inches deep. Now when you attach the light onto the bracket, that's going to obviously increase the height. So from the top of the light to the base of our bracket, we're sitting right at about three and three-quarters inches tall. Now these lights draw high current, and they do require adequately sized wiring to provide you safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, it is good to use wire that's size 16 gauge or larger to ensure safe operation. Now we do have these, we do also offer this light with just one light in a bracket setup, but that's all you need is just one.
